Reasons I LOVE Friends (the tv show, not my actual friends. Because, let's be honest, you really don't care about the latter.)

I've been patiently waiting for the hubby to go through his entire Star Trek: DS9 dvd collection (do you know how many discs are in each season?  SEVEN!) for the past few weeks.

We own several different television shows on dvd.  His favorites are Star Trek and the other Star Treks.  He has something like three different versions of that show on dvd.  One has William Shatner, one has that bald guy - Mr. Xavier? - and the other is the DS9 with the guy I dislike the least, Captain Sisko.

My favorites are NCIS, Will & Grace, Sex & the City, The Girls Next Door and, of course, FRIENDS.  (The hub actually really likes Friends too, so it's a win-win on that one.)

I've watched the entire series through at least four times, not counting the original runs and all of the reruns I've watched on TBS (very funny).

So, since we will start watching my beloved show again tonight, I felt it necessary to share with you guys a list of my most favorite episodes/scenes/quotes from the 10-year run.  Obviously it would take days to list all of my favorites, but I've painstakingly narrowed it down to a few.  I'm including video clips of the favorite moments, courtesy of Youtube.  (Note:  I was quite frustrated to learn that some of the very best Friends moments are not available on youtube. Major suckage.)

Here they are, in no particular order:

The "Pivot!" scene from The One With The Cop

The "Who knows who best" game in The One With the Embryos

Ross Playing the Keyboard from The One Where Chandler Crosses the Line

The One With The Prom Video

"They don't know we know they know we know!" from The One Where Everybody Finds Out
I couldn't find one with the majority of the hilarious conversations, so I had to settle for this one.  When Phoebe "seduces" Chandler hoping to get a confession out of him.

"Ah, salmon skin roll" from The One with Unagi

As a little bonus, I've also added some funny Friends bloopers:

Ah, my dear Friends.  How I love thee.

  1. omg, i love friends too!!! i find myself quoting it all the time and no one ever knows what i'm saying. thanks for those bloopers, i had never seen those before. hilarious. the "pivot" scene is definitely one of my faves.. and pretty much any time phoebe says "oh, no." i actually had a post about the time i got robbed in kenya and i was so drunk i decided to chase the guy down (really smart) and as i was running i thought i looked really graceful but i probably looked more like how phoebe runs. in the end, i caught up to the thief, beat him up, and got my stuff back though, so it all ended well. have you seen cougar town? it took me awhile to get used to but now i love it and i'm so glad courtney cox is doing something so funny!

I also own all 10 season and even sent away for the nice wooden box to store them all in that I got a flyer for in the Friends season 10 box. Friends was the first TV show I ever bought on DVD and I have watched them sooo many times. I own more shows on DVD now, but Friends is still my fav! Cracks me up! Best Show EVER!!! Oh yea when I moved and was trying to fit my couch into my door I kept thinking of that scene and laughing. "What did you mean when you said pivot?". Love it!

  6. LOVED the bloopers. Of course, I knew every one of the shows you mentioned...didn't need to see the clips! It's on here at 11:30pm and I catch it most nights. I don't think I've ever missed an eppy.

Matthew Perry is on Twitter, ya know. He's got a new show coming out in the fall. I think it's called Mr. Sunshine.

  7. I freaking LOVE this show. Amazing bloopers, and you picked some of the absolute best scenes to share. I also love the one where Rachel and Phoebe are looking out of Ross' soon-to-be apartment at Monica and Chandler hooking up for the first time and they're freaking out. Then Ross comes in to see it and they play it off as, "We're just so excited you're moving in!" He's kind of put off by it at first, but then he just joins in screaming like a little girl.

For some reason, that one just stands out. :)

  10. This is absolutely, positively my favorite show of all time. It is ridiculous how much I love it.

You did a good job narrowing it down to just a few favorites, if I tried I would end up posting 220 full episodes.

But I think my absolute favorite is the episode where Joey doesn't share food "I'm not even sorry!"
