Yes, someone does indeed have a case of the Mondays, and it's me. I didn't feel good today, so I skipped school. I know - I was shocked at myself, too. I just spent the day hanging out with my babies (which I feel like I hardly ever get to do anymore), watching cartoon movies and cuddling on the couch. It was great.
Then later this evening I went to my little cousin's football game. Since my other little cousin (his sister) is a cheerleader for the peewee team, I decided to dress my girls in their LSU cheer outfits.
The girls had a ball running all over the place. It was actually cool when we got to the field, which was a welcomed break from the relentless heat and humidity we've had lately. By the time the sun went down, though, we were all a little chilly.
As for my less-than-chipper mood....
I have no exams this week, which is a relief, but they start back up again next week. I have three exams and a quiz next week, and two exams the week after that. I'm already exhausted and I haven't even started studying yet. Also, I have an essay due in one class two weeks from today. Awesome.
I'm determined to make this a good week despite my inner urge to let the mood fester. My to-do list for this week:
1. Make index cards for my psychology and geography classes.
2. Begin studying for my political science and history exams.
3. Start on practice exams for my math class.
4. Finish locating articles for my essay project (10 down, 5 to go).
5. Complete an outline for my essay by Friday evening.
6. Stay on top of the laundry so it doesn't get ridiculously out of hand.
7. Refrain from reading my new Dexter book until after exam week.
8. Finish my online math homework (due October 5th).
9. Find time to get a french pedicure because the last one is wearing off.
10. Limit myself to one cup of coffee per day.
Don't know if I'll be able to accomplish all of these, but it's only Monday. I'm going to be optimistic.
Sorry I didn't do a Movie Delight for y'all today. I'll make up for it next week, I promise!

Movie Delight Monday
La. Dee. Da.
You know what that means.....
MOVIE DELIGHT MONDAY
Did anyone watch Porky's last week after my brilliant post praising its awesomeness? I hope so. One of these days I'm going to give you guys a pop quiz (interesting idea for a future blog post....)
Anyhoo, today I'm in a Tim Curry kind of mood, so we're going to talk about one of my all-time favorite movies. It's a film that has over the past twenty-five years become something of a cult classic (like Tim Curry films tend to do). That's right, folks, I'm talking about the hilarious film based on the game of the same name:
With the whodunit game as a basis, the film starts at Hill House, where six people are all guests to a dinner party by an unknown host.
The cast of this film is full of talent, the best being - of course - Tim Curry.
Curry plays Wadsworth, the butler and general coordinator of the evening.
The guests arrive, all suspicious and confused as to the reasons for their invitations.
Madeline Kahn played Mrs. White, the black widow who is also just a tad crazy.
(I also loved her in a handful of other movies - I consider her the queen of classic comedy- some of which will be future Movie Delight Monday topics.)
Professor Plum is played by the very talented Christopher Lloyd.
Among his best roles are Judge Doom (Who Framed Roger Rabbit?), Uncle Fester and of course Doc Brown. However, he's golden as Prof. Plum, and plays the affair-having horndog well.
Then we have Mr. Green played by Michael McKean
Lesley Ann Warren as Miss Scarlet
and Eileen Brennan as Mrs. Peacock

So anyhoo, all of the guests arrive, and Wadsworth keeps them confused by refusing to name the host. Over dinner, discussions reveal the guests are all connected to Washington, D.C. Mr. Boddy - supposed host - eventually shows up. He leads the guests into the study and explains to them that they are all being blackmailed by Wadsworth. He gives them each a weapon, telling them to kill Wadsworth in order to protect their secrets and preserve their reputations.
Suddenly Mr. Boddy is dead, followed by the cook and the maid.
Hilarity ensues as the guests and Wadsworth try to solve the mystery and find out whodunit. The body count increases as more people arrive at the mansion, revealing bits and pieces of the guests sordid pasts.
This film provides some of the best one-liners ever, and Curry is hilarious as he acts out his theories of how each murder was committed without the murderer being seen. The best part of the film is the end, when three alternate endings are provided. My favorite of the three (and I'm not telling which one is the actual ending) is when Wadsworth and Miss Scarlet are arguing over the number of bullets left in the gun.

Even if you're not a fan of the game, the movie is hilarious, and one you can watch over and over again.
Enjoy!

Movie Delight Monday
Yes sirree, it's that time again. Monday. Ugh.
Starting a new week, lugging along, just waiting for Wednesday - because we all know once you reach Hump Day the rest is easy peasy.
In accordance to the previous declaration of a heretofore mentioned appointment of assigned days of blogging (you can be impressed, it's okay), today has been deemed
MOVIE DELIGHT MONDAY.
Just makes you feel all tingly inside, doesn't it?
So, today I present to you one of my favorite 90s movies:
Goldie Hawn, Meryl Streep and Bruce Willis star in this delightfully dark comedy about frenemies and the man they both loved.
Helen Sharp is a smart, plain-Jane woman, who brings dorky fiance' Dr. Ernest Menville to meet her best friend Madeline Ashton, a blonde singer/actress. Madeline woos Ernest away from Helen, and Helen turns into a fat, icing-eating slob with dozens of cats. Obsessed with revenge, Helen makes some changes...
Years later Madeline and Ernest, stuck in a loveless relationship, are reunited with the new-and-improved Helen. An affair, murder plots and hilarity ensue.
Bruce Willis is wonderfully dense as Dr. Menville, and Streep and Hawn are entertaining to say the least. This film had great special effects for early 90s production, and director Robert Zemeckis did an excellent job.
NOTE TO PARENTS: There are boobies shown in this film, and adult humor throughout.
